Course Description

This course emphasizes the steps involved in the development of a great lesson plan and measuring the knowledge of learners. Topics include development of curriculum, instructional outcomes, components of a lesson plan, using printed materials and visual aids in a lesson plan, purpose of testing, academic policy, developing rubics, multiple-category grading system, and special learner needs.

Guidelines for Using Printed Materials and Audio Visuals in a Lesson Plan

  • Design a lesson plan that must contain written materials, units of study, and audio visuals.
  • List guidelines for using printed materials.
  • Explain copyright laws.

Purpose Testing

  • Demonstrate learner encouragement in evaluating.
  • develop a practical/performance evaluation for the purpose of testing skill level of the learner.

Academic Policy

  • Understand and demonstrate knowledge and importance of having a uniform academic policy.
  • List the accrediting bodies in barbering establish a testing procedure and the criteria that must be followed in order for graduates to successfully pass the license examination.

Developing Rubrics

  • Demonstrate knowledge in developing a rubric for practical/performance application.
  • Complete  a learner outcome evaluation.

Develop a Multiple-Category Grading System

  • Design an example of a multiple-category grading system.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of accommodating learning needs for special learners in several different testing categories.
