Course Description

This course provides students with short- and long-term projects that address real-life design situations and require competence in solving design problems as related to residential design. Topics include the application of the principles and elements of design, space planning, materials selections, graphic presentation, project documentation and delivery, and client presentation techniques.

Principles and Elements of Design

• Integrate the principles and elements of design into residential and design projects.

Space Planning

• Create a response to project scenarios using technical and conceptual skills.

Material Selection

• Demonstrate correct material selection for commercial and residential projects.

Documentation and Implementation

• Construct contract documents and project management materials for interiors projects.
