Course Description

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, configure, manage, support and administer a Microsoft network infrastructure.

Course Outcomes

Microsoft Server

  • Identify Server Editions, current and new technologies, and various server roles and features.
  • Install and configure Microsoft Server.

IP Addressing and Services

  • Explain, compare, and configure IP addressing formats.
  • Configure various IP options including subnetting, supernetting, and alternative configuration.
  • Describe, configure, and manage Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
  • Discuss and configure computer network routing.
  • Discuss and configure IPSec.

Name Resolution

  • Explain the concepts and principles of name resolution.
  • Describe, configure, and manage a Domain Name System (DNS) server.
  • Configure DNS zones, records, replication, and other related options.
  • Discuss and configure name resolution for client computers.

Network Access

  • Explain the purpose and principles of remote access.
