Course Description
This course provides students with opportunities to become familiar with interior construction and service systems for interiors. Topics include interior and exterior construction systems, building materials, construction documents, codes, sustainable building techniques, and coordination with generalists and installers.

Interior and Exterior Construction Systems

1 Explain how heat is transferred and may be conserved.
2 Describe the major types of heating and cooling systems found in residential construction.
3 Discuss the purpose of plumbing code regulations.
4 Illustrate the basic layout and function of plumbing systems in residential and contract design.
5 Discuss how National Electrical Codes and local codes affect the design of the electrical
installation.
