Course Description

This seminar focuses on job preparation and maintenance skills and provides students with a review for the certification examination. Topics include letters of application, resumes, completing a job application, job interviews, follow-up letters and telephone calls, letters of resignation, and a review of program competencies for employment and certification.

  • Demonstrate preparation of a resume to be used when applying for a job.
  • Demonstrate complete of a job application.
  • Perform role-play of a job interview.
  • Perform discussing questions commonly asked during a job interview.
  • Demonstrate dressing appropriately for a job interview.
  • Demonstrate preparing a follow-up letter.
  • Demonstrate preparation of a letter of resignation.
  • Demonstrate discussion of the importance of appropriate resignation procedures, including completion of a resignation letter, giving notice, and working out a notice.
  • List and discuss legal and illegal interview questions.
