Course Description
This course provides instruction on the troubleshooting and repair of major components of residential air conditioning systems. Topics include troubleshooting techniques, electrical controls, air flow, the refrigeration cycle, electrical servicing procedures, and safety.

- Isolate electrical malfunctions.

The Refrigeration Cycle
- Isolate refrigeration malfunctions.
Electrical Servicing Procedures
- Perform a voltage drop test on an air conditioning system.
- Service various cooling systems.
- Service condensate drain systems.
- Use P-T charts or manufacturer’s charts to charge an air conditioning system.
Safety
- Identify and discuss the safety hazards the technician may encounter in troubleshooting and servicing air conditioning systems.
