Course Description

This course further expands on the spray gun equipment, materials, and techniques used in the application of special paints to automobile finishes introduced in Fundamentals of Refinishing I. Instructors will place emphasis on blending, tinting, and matching colors.

Tinting Methods

1                 Explain the theory in relation to the importance of tinting procedures and techniques.

 

Gun Techniques

    configurations.

 

Variables Adjustments

1                  Demonstrate control adjustments and their effects in reference to tinting.


Color Flip-Flop Determination and Correction

1                  Explain the effects of light, position and depth perception to include various
     angles as they relate to color determination.

 

Reduction Procedures

1                  Demonstrate the ability to discriminate between various reductions and the
     adverse effect for the purpose of tinting.
