Course Description
This course introduces the techniques necessary for auxiliary view drawings, surface development, and developing sheet metal parts. Topics include primary auxiliary views, secondary auxiliary views, surface development, and developing sheet metal parts.

Order Description
1 Define the concept of an auxiliary view and list its advantages.
2 Define secondary auxiliary view, partial views, auxiliary sections, half auxiliary views, oblique
surfaces, viewing plane.
3 Draw an auxiliary view using the reference plane method.
4 Draw an auxiliary view using the folding line method.
5 Draw round and curved surfaces in auxiliary views.
6 Draw secondary auxiliary views.
7 Draw partial auxiliary views.
Surface Development
Order Description
1 Define the term development and list the major kinds of developments.
2 List 16 different seams used to join sheet metal.
3 Calculate bend allowance.
4 Draw a parallel line development.

Sheet Metal
Order Description
1 Demonstrate the use of sheet metal feature tool.
2 Draw sheet metal features.
3 Create sheet metal faces, contour flange, cut tool, and folds.
4 Add sheet metal flanges and hems.
5 Add sheet metal corner seams, bends, corner rounds, and corner chamfer.
6 Use the steel metal punch tool and flat pattern tool.
