Course Description

Technical Drawing V provides the knowledge and skills necessary to create working drawings for the manufacturing of machine parts. Topics include detail drawings, orthographic assembly drawings, pictorial assembly drawings, and the utilization of technical reference sources.

1              Demonstrate the ability to research technical manuals for required data to complete a
    working set of assembly drawings.

2              Identify parts of the assembly that can be purchased and download the cad file from a
    manufacturer's website.

 

Detail Drawings

rder         Description

1              Generate formal detail drawings of the necessary parts from the given "real-world" assembly
    drawing assignment.

2              Determine required views (principle/standard views, section views, auxiliary views, pictorial
    views, etc.) to fully communicate the needed information for the production of the detail
    drawings.

 

Bill of Materials/Parts List

1              Generate an accurate bill of materials consisting of, but not limited to the following
    (item number, quantity, part number, description, material, weight) for the given "real-
    world" assembly drawing assignment.


Assembly Drawings

1              Produce a formal assembly drawing that communicates how to erect the finished
    product including a bill of materials and individual part/sub-assembly identification for
    the given "real- world" assembly drawing assignment.
